THE PLATE JOURNEY(AN UPDATE):
Four months into the PLate Journey, we are thankful for the community support. We are pleased and somewhat surprised that our restaurant community extends to a large South Metro area already.
We are proud of our staff. They have been a key to the initial success along with the ownership team that also works very hard as employees of the business. The idea of having employee/owners is nothing new, but it seems even more critical in creating the best possible atmosphere in a restaurant. PLate’s ownership team is the same as described below with one key change. Effective March 25, we are excited to announce that Honorio Rivera has become PLate’s executive chef!
Honorio has been an “executive chef in waiting” for a long time and now he finally has the title. Many of the PLate dishes are his creation, and now he has the opportunity to really put his own stamp on the restaurant. Please join us in welcoming his full-time presence for both his creative food and, perhaps more importantly, his infectious friendly personality!
Honorio’s full-time position at PLate so early in the journey was not anticipated as it was precipitated by the departure of Miguel Urrutia. Miguel decided that he simply could not satisfy the demands of PLate and his El Jefe restaurant and food truck while maintaining his high standards. Miguel and his family played a critical role at our inception, we truly appreciate all they accomplished to leave PLate positioned well, and we wish them nothing but the best!
Our Mission is the same: To create a branded American eatery known for consistently producing distinctive high-quality food and beverages for its community of customers. There is a neighborhood focus, but an inviting atmosphere for all. With spring finally in the air, PLate will soon open its outdoor patio and extend its inviting atmosphere a little further in downtown Prior Lake!
